Description

Breaking Barriers is a panel event that focuses on women leaders who have pursued and successfully navigated their way through unconventional, often male-dominated, arenas. Three women panelists, each with their own stories of resilience, will be invited to share their experience and provide insights on achieving success in a moderated discussion.

Panelists

Low Ngai Yuen
Ngai Yuen is a multiple award-winning activist, championing local performing arts and empowerment of young girls. She is also an acclaimed film producer, director, and TV veteran, having started as a host on ‘3R’, an award-winning TV program aimed at empowering women.

Datuk Dr. Mazlan Othman
Dr. Othman is Malaysia’s first astrophysicist. Formerly, she was the Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and the Deputy Director-General of the UN office in Vienna. She was also the founding director of ANGKASA, the Malaysian National Space Agency.

Sharala Axryd
Sharala leads the data-driven business transformation and driving the benchmark for data science education in the ASEAN region. She is the Founder of The Center of Applied Data Science, ASEAN’s first and only one stop platform and center of excellence for Data Science, and CEO of ASEAN Data Analytics Exchange (ADAX).


Xelia Tong

Xelia is the Vice President of Grant Investment at Cradle Fund, Malaysia's early stage start-up influencer that was incorporated under the Ministry of Finance Malaysia. Through its 13 year history, Cradle has helped fund over 700 Malaysian tech start-ups and holds the highest commercialisation rate amongst government grants in the country.
